I know i’ve been critical of some of these confessions so I shouldn’t say anything. especially after I was all over the last one but…..

*resists the urge to point out that Joey wasn’t a friend of Dave’s until after he was HIRED for the Anthemic - therefore, HAI PURELY BUSINESS*

Though I always thought that that confession had a bit of truth to it. And the masochistic part of me went even further and at one point really considered that maybe Joey went to SG & the Scene because dealing with the Disney fanbase is at times probably more sane than dealing with the Anthemic’s.

However that last part is probably just me overreaching.

Joey did what Joey did for business. He came into David’s band as a hired musician and he came into Selena’s band as a hired musician.  The way he left David’s band was a dick move, but I doubt it was personal or calculated.  Not everyone can be as tight as Neal and Andy and David—some people still have bills to pay.
